About the Workplace

The Environmental and Community Building Administration is centrally located in Enköping in a beautiful environment by the river and Klosterparken. We offer a varied work environment in a hybrid setting where you can split your time between on-site work and working from home.

Enköping is an expanding area, and the need for supervision increases as the city grows. The environmental department currently employs a total of 32 people, divided into five workgroups: environment and agriculture, sewage, health protection, food, and administration. We are now looking for a temporary colleague for our environmental protection group as one of our inspectors will go on parental leave.

As an environmental inspector, you will work with supervision and assessment according to the Environmental Code. The inspectors at the environmental department supervise B-, C-, and U-operations and complaints. The supervision includes waste, industries, quarries, stormwater, agriculture, shoreline protection, and complaints.

This position will primarily focus on supervision within the waste area and our recurring projects, for example, at dental clinics. We offer you a workplace with wonderful colleagues who enjoy laughter and a varied job where we rarely get bored.

In your work, you will have many contacts with the municipality's residents, businesses, and other municipal operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are an educated environmental and health protection inspector or have other training deemed equivalent. To succeed in this role, we prefer that you have worked for a few years as an inspector. We expect you to have very good knowledge of environmental law. Experience with waste issues is an advantage. The work is independent, and you need to have good initiative and a willingness to take responsibility. You are also an important part of our workgroup, and we want you to be good at collaborating and contributing to our positive work environment. Therefore, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The tasks involve exercising authority and having contact with both operators and private individuals. Therefore, it is important that you can express yourself easily in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You also need to be comfortable making clear demands when warranted.

The work is varied, which means you may conduct inspections with other authorities, collaborate within our cooperative organizations, and have contact with, for example, the fire service and police.

You need a B driver's license to drive our service vehicles. It is advantageous if you are used to working in some case management system; we currently use Castor.
